Protest campaign: PTI prepared for Sunday’s meeting, says Chaudhry

Chaudhry says PTI had made it clear to govt that it would hold the public meeting only in Iqbal Park

LAHORE:

The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) is finalising its preparations for the September 28 public gathering at Minar-i-Pakistan, PTI Punjab president Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhry said on Thursday.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Chaudhry said party committees were busy in their preparations for the public meeting. “There will be a separate enclosure for women and families. Satisfactory arrangements have been made for security,” he said.

He said that the PTI had made it clear to the government that it would hold the public meeting only in Iqbal Park.

“If the government does not permit the gathering, we will protest in front of Jati Umra,” he said.

“The PTI will break the record for the biggest attendance on September 28,” he said.

Chaudhry said that PTI chairman Imran Khan’s message had reached every corner of the country. “The people are enthusiastic about the change the PTI wants to bring.

People from all over Pakistan are coming to Lahore to participate in the rally. All the party organisations are working to make the event a success,” he said.

“Youth and women are in the forefront of this movement. On September 28, millions of people are going to gather to support their leader,” he said.

He said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders were visiting the US to save their government.

“The rulers are going to be disappointed when they return to Pakistan because change is inevitable. People have decided to get rid of the government who came into power through rigging,” Chaudhry said.

“The government is trying to hide its corruption behind democracy. From Karachi to Khyber, every Pakistani wants the government to resign. The people of Lahore will welcome their true hero and leader on the 28th and will bury this government forever,” he said.

Chaudhry said that the ruling class had been eating away at the foundations of the country.

“Now the poor people of Pakistan have realised who is responsible for their plight. They will not stop until they get freedom from this system,” he said.

He said that Imran Khan’s vision had ended the traditional politics in Pakistan. PTI Lahore district president Abdul Aleem Khan has urged the youth to participate in the September 28 public meeting in large numbers.
