Against bifurcation: JUI-F rejects demand for administrative units
The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam - Fazl (JUI-F) rejected the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's demand of creating more administrative units within the province of Sindh on Thursday, saying that the move will lead to the disintegration of the country.
"It's time to unite the people of Pakistan by transcending ethnic, linguistic or sectarian differences instead of spreading hate and prejudice," said the provincial president of the JUI-F, Khalid Mehmood Soomro. He addressed a press conference after chairing the annual majlis-e-shoora meeting of JUI-F, Sindh, on Thursday.
Soomro said that the MQM is wrong to underpin the blooming population of Sindh to argue for its division. "The population of Uttar Pradesh in India and some provinces in China is equal to the population of Pakistan," he said. "But those provinces are being administered well."
Soomro criticised the provincial government for failing to establish peace in Karachi. He termed the on-going security operation a failure.
