Crime against women: Teen assaulted by two men

Police say Tahira* was abducted by Ali Riaz and an unidentified accomplice friend from near her house

FAISALABAD:
A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped by two men near D-Type Colony police station on Thursday.

A police spokesman said Tahira*, a resident of D-Type Colony, was abducted by Ali Riaz and an unidentified accomplice friend from near her house. He said the men took her to a deserted house where they raped her.

Akram Khan, a relative of the victim, told newsmen Tahira was returning from the nearby bazaar when she was abducted. He said when she resisted, they beat her until she fainted. Khan said they then left her a few feet from her house and fled.

He said when Tahira came to, she told her parents about what had happened. He said her parents took her to a hospital and contacted the police.


D-Type Colony station house officer told newsmen that a complaint had been registered. He said a team had been formed to investigate the allegations.

He said the police were waiting for girl’s medical report after which they would arrest the men.
