Board Meeting: Govt to protect PTDC as federal entity
Chairman also directed to constitute a sub-committee to explore avenues for promotion of cultural tourism in Pakistan

Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Minister Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Tuesday said the government is trying to protect Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) as a corporate entity at the federal level. Rashid said this while chairing a meeting of the PTDC Board of Directors in Rawalpindi. The board recommended that the decision regarding the devolution of PTDC to the provinces be reviewed and be taken up in the next meeting of the federal cabinet. It decided to review various aspects of devolution of PTDC in light of the instructions by the prime minister. Rashid, the chairman of the board of directors asked the PTDC managing director to meet the chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to work out a suitable place for the office of the PTDC in Islamabad, and also to put several proposals in this regard in the next meeting. He also directed to constitute a sub-committee to explore avenues for promotion of cultural tourism in Pakistan.
