Teachers demand appointments on merit
DI KHAN:
The All Teachers Association (ATA) on Monday slammed political interference in the K-P education department, saying the government should take strict notice of teachers not appointed on merit. In a meeting at Government Higher Secondary School, No 2, ATA President Muhammad Yaqoob Babar called upon the authorities concerned to take concrete measures and resolve problems that have been pending for many years. Members said politics had penetrated the education department and officials were blatantly violating merit and transferring teachers on political grounds.
