Resource development: Chiniot-Rajwa iron ore project proceeding as planned
Drilling set to start three <br />
months ahead of schedule.

Those participating in a meeting convened to review the Chiniot-Rajwa Iron Ore Project were told on Friday that a magnetic survey had been completed on schedule.
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday presided over the meeting. GEOS Resident Consultant Jurgen Hartsch briefed those present on the utilisation of reserves, their estimated volume and other mineral reserves in the area.
Minerals Secretary Arshad Mehmood, Punjab Minerals Company Chairman Samar Mubarakmand, Punjab Minerals Company Project Manager Shahzad Rafi and Liu Shuxiang of the Chinese Metallurgical Corporation of China were present on the occasion.
Sharif said vast reserves of iron ore were present in the area. He said these could be used to strengthen the national economy. He said the project would increase business activity in the region and create several job opportunities. Sharif instructed officials to accelerate the pace of work on the project. They were told that work through drilling rigs would commence three months ahead of schedule.
