Killings and encounters: ASI among 12 people gunned down
Woman found dead in Lines Area within the jurisdiction of Brigade police station.

Around 10 people were shot dead in the city on Thursday.
The bodies of three friends were found from a nullah near a truck stand in Mauripur. The deceased were identified as 23-year-old Idrees Ayub, Waqar Aziz, 22, and 23-year-old Feroz Younus. The bodies were found in gunny bags, blindfolded with their hands and feet tied together by ropes.
SHO Chaudhry Saleem said that the boys were friends and lived in Kalakot, Lyari. He added that they had been kidnapped and were all shot in the head once. The officer suspects that Lyari gangsters might have been involved and added that further investigation was being carried out. A woman was found dead in Lines Area within the jurisdiction of the Brigade police station. The deceased has not been identified as yet. According to initial investigations, the deceased was shot at multiple times after she was kidnapped by unidentified people. The body was taken to the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth after medico-legal were completed.
In an unrelated incident, the employee of a private bank identified as 35-year-old Naeem Ahmed was shot dead in North Karachi within the limits of Khwaja Ajmair Nagri police station. SHO Aslam Khakrani said that at least two men on a motorcycle shot at him as he was on his way home after dropping his children to school. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for the autopsy.
A man associated with Baba Ladla's group in Lyari was killed by their rivals in the Rangi Wara area within the Kalakot police remits. Police officials said that the incident took place when the deceased identified as Saad Muhammad alias Baba, 55, was collecting a donation outside a mosque after Friday prayers. He was taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi.
On Thursday night, three people associated with the Jamaat-e-Islami were killed in Sector 7-D within the limits of Surjani police station. Police officials said that Ashraf Salam and Akhtar Ansari died on the spot while Suleman alias Sunny, 26, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital on Friday. The police said that the victims were friends and supporters of the JI. He added that they were sitting outside an estate agency when six men on three motorcycles opened fire at them. The police said that Ansari's father, Hanif, was killed a year ago while his brother, Azhar, was also killed six months ago in a similar manner. The motives behind the murders have yet to be ascertained. Another person was shot dead in Shahrae Noor Jehan.
Alleged militants' bodies identified
The bodies of two more alleged militants who were killed in an encounter with the police in Sohrab Goth on Wednesday were identified on Friday.
Seven alleged members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan's Waliur Rehman group were killed in Macchar Colony, Sohrab Goth, by the Malir district police. Their bodies were shifted to the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth for identification. The two bodies were identified by their families as Janullah and Saeedullah, both residents of Musharraf Colony in Mauripur. On Thursday, four others were identified as Hameedullah Khan from Quaidabad, Abdul Rehman from Orangi Town, Muhammad Rasool from Gabol Town and Omar from New Karachi. One militant is yet to be identified. The bodies of the rest were handed over to their families for burial after identification.
