Timely action: Swabi WAPDA union demands justice for slain colleague

Division warns of massive protests if the murderers of colleague are not arrested by September 24

SWABI:

All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Union’s Swabi division has warned of massive protests if the murderers of their colleague are not arrested by September 24. This was said at a meeting chaired by divisional chairman Haji Rawaid on Thursday.

Meter reader Muhammad Younas had gone to Jalsai to do his job when he was shot dead by unidentified persons on Tuesday. His body was found on Wednesday, robbed of all personal items.

According to Rawaid, if the government will not take any action, union workers will lock their offices and take to the roads. The chairman demanded that compensation be paid to Younas’s widow, also before the September 24 deadline.

He said if the killers are not caught and the compensation not paid in time, they will disconnect the power supply to the district.

Office bearers of the union were also present at the meeting.
