Political jirga appeals to PTI, PAT to end sit-ins

JI Chief Sirajul Haq stressed that the situation can only be fixed if dialogue with the parties is started again

ISLAMABAD:
Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Sirajul Haq has said that the political jirga has appealed to the PTI and the PAT to end their sit-ins.

Addressing the media in Islamabad, Haq stressed that the situation can only be fixed if dialogue with the parties is started again.

“We appeal to them to come on the path of negotiations again to remove the country from its current situation,” Haq said.

Furthermore, Senator Rehman Malik informed the media about a letter that the jirga had prepared.

“This letter adheres to the Constitution and law of Pakistan,” Malik said. “All of our honourable members have a word in this,” he added.

“When the two stakeholders (PTI and PAT) were presented with this letter, they appreciated it,” Malik said.

He added that both PTI, PAT expressed their concern for the deadlock to end.

Moreover, Malik said that they have prepared another letter as well. However, he said that they would not share it with the media as of yet.

“The letter will address the matter of the prime minister’s resignation and will properly define what exactly rigging is and who could determine it,” Malik said.

The former interior minister went on to say, "Politics is synonymous with dialogue. If there is dialogue, then the situation will get better."

Malik also said that the jirgah is expecting that PTI and PAT will tell them what their demands are by tonight.
