Over 1,000 troops leave for Africa to be a part of UN peacekeeping mission

Up till now, Pakistan Army has been a part of 41 UN peacekeeping missions in 24 countries

RAWALPINDI:
The first batch of 1,100 Pakistani peacekeepers left for Benguai in the Central African Republic (CAR) on Monday to be a part of a UN peacekeeping mission, according to a press release issued by ISPR.

The press release stated that the fact that Pakistani troops have been selected for this particular mission shows the UN’s confidence in the Pakistani army.


Pakistan is one of the leading troops’ contributors in the UN with 8,000 troops.

Up till now, the Pakistan army has been a part of 41 UN peacekeeping missions in 24 countries.
