Army chief, ISAF commander discuss Operation Zarb-e-Azb
Developments in Afghanistan and coordination along the Pak-Afghan Border also discussed during meeting at GHQ

International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) Commander General John Campbell met with army chief General Raheel Sharif in Rawalpindi on Monday.
According to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, the two discussed matters of mutual interest, including the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb against militants in North Waziristan, the latest situation in Afghanistan and coordination along the Pak-Afghan Border during their meeting.
On June 26, General Joe Dunford turned over command to General Campbell as commander of the ISAF in Afghanistan during a ceremony in Kabul. This is Campbell’s first visit to the General Headquarters (GHQ) after assuming the role of commander Isaf in June.
Earlier, while General Dunford was still in command, the top military commanders of Pakistan, Afghanistan and the Isaf decided to continue the process of bringing peace in Afghanistan as the new Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government took office in Islamabad.
The trilateral meeting in Rawalpindi on June 8 was attended by Isaf commander General Joseph F Dunford, CGS ANA General Sher Mohammad Karimi and Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
The trilateral meeting discussed matters relating to coordination on the Pak-Afghan border and protocols put in place to improve border control.
