In its ongoing campaign against grey telephony, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) raided an illegal gateway exchange in Lahore. In the fresh move, a successful operation was carried out against the illegal operator along with a Federal Investigation Agency team in Gulshan-e-Ravi, Lahore, a press release said on Friday. During the raid, four gateways, two DSL routers, hundreds of SIMs, desktop PCs and laptops were confiscated. The raids are conducted after continuous monitoring of grey traffic operators by the PTA, which is working tirelessly to curb the menace, which costs the exchequer an estimated $1 billion a year.
