Jamia Binoria teacher shot dead in Karachi

Funeral prayers offered in Karachi.

KARACHI:
A teacher of the Jamia Binoria Al Almia was shot dead in the Hyderi area of Karachi on Wednesday, Express News reported.

Maulana Masood was in his car when four armed men on motorcycles approached and opened fire. Three bullets hit him in the head and chest. Massod succumbed to his injuries shortly after the incident.

An Express News correspondent said that his body has been taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital  for a postmortem.


Forty-year-old Massod, who was the son-in-law of renowned cleric and head of Jamia Binoria Mufti Naeem, was also teacher at Karachi University. Jamia Binoria is one of the more notable Deobandi seminaries in Pakistan.

Later in the evening, funeral prayers of Masood was offered in Karachi, Express News reported.
