Convicted: Man sentenced to life for killing wife
Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Ali heard the case and sentenced Fareed to lifetime imprisonment.
BAHAWALPUR:
A man was sentenced on Tuesday to life in prison for murdering his wife. Four other accused, including three women, were set free. According to prosecution, Ghulam Fareed, a resident of Thul Hamza, had strangled his wife, Khalida, in 2012. Khalida’s father, Naseer Ahmad, had registered a complaint against Fareed and some members of his family. Taranda Muhammad Panah police had then arrested Fareed, Raheem Ali, Haseena, Zareena and Shameem. Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Ali heard the case and sentenced Fareed to lifetime imprisonment. He was also fined Rs200,000.
