258 more Pakistanis evacuated from Libya
The total number of Pakistanis evacuated from Libya is now 1,727. Approximately 1800 are still stranded
ISLAMABAD:
A special chartered flight on Tuesday brought 258 more Pakistanis stranded in Libya back home, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
The flight, the sixth so far since August 13, landed in Lahore on Tuesday afternoon. This brings the total number of Pakistanis evacuated from Libya to 1,727.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, around 1,800 people are still waiting to be evacuated, housed in relief camps set up by the Pakistan Embassy in Tripoli.
Flights are planned during the coming week to bring them back to their homes "at the earliest", Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had said.
The statement added that all required support and sustenance is being provided to Pakistani nationals in Libya.
