Reconciliation: Wattoo praises Aitezaz, Nisar for burying the hatchet
‘War of egos should be avoided in trying times in the interest of democracy’.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab president Manzoor Wattoo on Sunday praised Senator Aitezaz Ahsan and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan for burying the hatchet and moving forward for the sake of democracy.
“The agitating political parties and the government should take a leaf from the recent standoff between Aitezaz and Nisar and ignore their egos in the interest of the Constitution, democracy and rule of law,” Wattoo said in a statement.
He said sanity called for ending all political disputes. “The Constitution and democracy are at stake. They must be protected.”
Wattoo said the political crisis was also a test for the agitating parties and government to prove their democratic credentials.
“The overwhelming silent majority will express their criticism by inflicting an embarrassing electoral debacle on them,” the PPP leader said.
He said the nation was passing through an ordeal and the apathy of the agitating parties was unfortunate and unforgiving.
“The country’s image has taken abating in the political crisis. The damage to the economy and postponement of the Chinese president’s visit to Pakistan have sent the country into an isolation,” the PPP leader said.
