Where’s the government?: ‘Protests costing the economy millions’

Said, “Some foreign dignitaries, scheduled to visit Islamabad, had to put off their tours due to the uncertainty"

PESHAWAR:

QWP Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said protests in the federal capital and the call for civil disobedience have caused massive losses to the country’s economy. Problems faced by displaced people from North Waziristan have faded into oblivion due to PTI and PAT marches. Speaking at a news conference at the party’s central secretariat, Watan Kor on Saturday, he pointed out there was a marked decrease in tax and revenue collection over the last two weeks.

“Some foreign dignitaries, scheduled to visit Islamabad, had to put off their tours due to the uncertainty in the country,” he added.

The PAT leadership has not ended its protests despite the registration of an FIR against the Model Town incident in Lahore, noted the QWP leader.

He underlined K-P was virtually without a government since two weeks as the chief minister and cabinet members attend the Azadi march. Sherpao asked the K-P government to take precautionary measures against the threat of floods.
