Flood relief: Malik Riaz announces Rs500m in aid

The chief of Bahria Town, Malik Riaz, took notice of the destruction caused by floods and announced a relief package of Rs500 million for the flood affectees. As a first step, a helicopter, 3 mobile medical units, 6 ambulances and 2,000 tents were immediately dispatched to the affected areas. While speaking to Express News, Riaz said that relief teams of Bahria Town are already providing assistance to IDPs of North Waziristan — just like they provided relief for people in quake-hit Awaran. “We have dispatched emergency relief mission to flood affected areas in Punjab,” said the Bahria Town chief. Three more helicopters are being specially called for this operation which will be soon added to the relief team, he added. The relief package will include monetary assistance, drinking water, medicines, tents, health facilities and food for those suffering from the ongoing rains and floods in Punjab.
