Gilani convenes energy conference
ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has convened a two-day conference to evolve a strategy to overcome power shortages in the country.
All the four chief ministers, federal ministers and energy experts will attend the conference. The conference will discuss diversification of gas resources, resolution of issues of payments to Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco) and construction of hydel and coal power generation plants.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is expected to react strongly to long power outages in the province.
