Lahore Lions yet to receive visas
Pakistan’s domestic champs set to take part in CLT20.
KARACHI:
Lahore Lions, Pakistan’s domestic champions in the shortest format of cricket, are due to participate in the Champions League T20 (CLT20) qualifiers but are still awaiting their visas for India, where they are scheduled to arrive on September 8.
They will become the third team from Pakistan to take part in the lucrative event; previously, Sialkot Stallions and Faisalabad Wolves had participated but were knocked out in the qualifying round.
Lahore have several star players in their ranks with Mohammad Hafeez leading the side, while others include Ahmed Shehzad, Nasir Jamshed, Umar Akmal and Wahab Riaz.
“The Lahore Lions are yet to recieve their visas for the CLT20 and we are in constant contact with the authorities,” a PCB official told The Express Tribune.
“Hopefully the team will fly on time and there will be no hiccups. The Indian authorities and organisers have assured us that the matter will be resolved in due time.”
