The government approved 11 developmental schemes worth Rs15 billion for various districts on Wednesday.
The schemes for the fiscal year 2014-2015 were approved in the 10th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party.
Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Irfan Elahi chaired the meeting. The schemes include an upgrade of operation theatres and an intensive care unit at Faisalabad Allied Hospital at the cost of Rs346 million; Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Project; a bus stand at Peshawar Mor in Rawalpindi at the cost of Rs 1,477 million; Faisalabad Western Industrial Waste Water Treatment Plant Rs9,850 million; comprehensive master planning for water supply, sewerage, drainage and waste water treatment system in Rawalpindi cost Rs50 million; feasibility study and detailed design for augmentation of water supply to Rawalpindi from Chahan Dam Rawalpindi Rs20 million; automation of stamp paper (e-stamping) cost Rs207 million; metalled road from Lahore-Sheikhupura Road Adda Joinwala Mor to Sheikhupura-Muridke Road in Sheikhupura district (length 13.65 kilometres) cost Rs709 million; widening and improvement of road from Kahna Kachha to Halloke railway crossing (6km) Lahore at the cost of Rs366 million; construction of metalled road from Benazir Road at railway crossing 1/4/L to Renala Khurd along railway line via Education University Okara (15km) in Okara district cost Rs281 million; construction (widening and improvement) of road from Gogera to Jandraka (17km) in Okara district cost Rs225 million; and improvement of Jhal Khanuana chowk, Faisalabad cost Rs2,292. Planning and Development Provincial Secretary Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry, members of the Planning and Development Board, several provincial secretaries also attended the meeting.
