No show: PTI’s protest at Governor’s House does not materialise

The sit-in was postponed due to unfavourable weather conditions as well.

LAHORE:

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf was unable to stage a sit-in on Wednesday in front of the Governor’s House as PTI Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhry had convened a meeting of all provincial office bearers, regional and district presidents and general secretaries to express confidence in the Azadi March.

A PTI official said party officials from the city were unable to hold the sit-in as the provincial leadership had left for the federal capital. He said the sit-in was also postponed due to unfavourable weather conditions. He said PTI Punjab information secretary Andleeb Abbas and general secretary Yasmin Rashid were in Islamabad. He said party’s city chapter was supposed to organise a sit-in in their absence but had not held it. He said PTI Lahore president Abdul Aleem’s media centre had issued a statement condemning the parliament’s joint session. He said the provincial office bearers had left for Islamabad in the morning.
