Head Of ECO CCI: FPCCI chief among front-runners
The ECO CCI is a trade body which promotes bilateral trade and strengthens economic relations among ECO states
ISLAMABAD:
Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Zakaria Usman is likely to become the head of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). The ECO CCI is a trade body which promotes bilateral trade and strengthens economic relations among ECO states. The presidency of the ECOCCI is changed after every three years. With Pakistan’s turn for nomination, Usman is among the front-runners for the position. Meetings of various committees of ECO CCI have been started under the patronage of FPCCI Secretariat in which the members from ECO states will discuss various proposals, strategy and viable joint projects to promote economic, trade and investment activities to enhance economic relations. The members also discussed the intra-ECO investment projects by ECO Trade Development Bank to the project with contribution of more than three countries.
