Penalty for irregularity: Cops detained for being absent
Six policemen were locked up when they were found absent on duty on Tuesday.

Six policemen were locked up when they were found absent on duty on Tuesday. The policemen were deployed for security duty at a protest held by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in District East. Police sources said that senior police officials found them absent from while visiting the protest site. They were later found having tea at a nearby teashop. They were then detained and later locked up at a police station in Ferozabad as punishment for their negligence of duty. However, within few hours, they were released with a warning. Police officials involved in the incident, including Ferozabad SHO Safdar Mashwani, tried to ignore the incident when contacted.
