Gas leakage: Blast kills one, injures nine others
Nine family members were inside the room when the explosion occurred.
RAWALPINDI:
One person was killed and nine others injured on Tuesday in an explosion caused by a gas leak in a house situated in Rawalpindi, informed a rescue official.
Samad Khan, a resident of Gulzar-e-Quaid, was killed and nine of his relatives injured, including six women and two children, after an explosion inside a house. According to the details, at around 5am, a loud explosion took place in the house owing to a gas leak. A total of nine family members were present inside the room when the explosion took place due to the gas leak. Rescue 1122 personnel reached the site after being informed of the incident and shifted the victims to Holy Family Hospital.
In January this year, a child was severely injured in a stove explosion in Rawalpindi and died a month later after suffering multiple organ failure.
Hamda Imran, 3, was one of eight family members who were admitted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences’ Burns Centre after a stove exploded in their house in Shakrial on January 18. Several of the child’s family members were suffered severe burn injuries.
