Fire and brimstone: Minister says Imran, Qadri want lawlessness
Attacks on national institutions like PTV tarnishes nation's image
ISLAMABAD:
Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Monday said that both Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri wanted to spread lawlessness as neither of them was paying heed to the law of the land.
Talking to several television channels, he said that PTI and PAT leaders wanted to force the government to accept their demands through force. The minister said that the country had suffered losses worth billions of rupees.
He also claimed that the government had not used force against the protesters because women and children were among them.
Pervaiz Rashid said that PTV was voice of the nation and an attack on its headquarters was highly condemnable. He said that attack on PTV was a result of provocative speeches of both Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri. The minister said that their workers were asked to attack and torture the PTV employees.
He said that attacks on national institutions had tarnished image of the country. “Such attacks are destroying our image at the international level.”
