Mob torches police mobile during funeral

An angry mob torched a police mobile van after a clash between two groups, during a funeral, leaving one person dead.

An angry mob torched a police mobile van in the Azeem Pura area of Karachi, following a clash between two groups during a funeral, leaving one person dead.

Unidentified armed men opened fire on those attending the funeral of Abdul Majeed, in Karachi's Shah Faisal Colony in Azeem Pura, who was murdered few days ago.

The funeral procession was being attended by a large number of people, one of whom died in the firing.

Police parties dispatched to the site after the attack arrested several individuals.

As police officials commenced the crackdown, they were attacked by a mob which then set the police mobile on fire.

Reinforcements of Police and Rangers were then called in, who patrolled the area and brought the situation under control.
