BANNU:
Two internally displaced people residing in Bannu were injured when unidentified men opened fire at them near New Sabzi Mandi on Friday night. An official of Mandan police station said armed men knocked at the door of a shop in the market and opened fire when the door was opened. As a result, two men from North Waziristan present in the shop, Hassan Wali and Hazrat Umer, were injured. The accused managed to flee, while their gun was found later at the scene of the crime. Nearby people rushed to the spot after hearing the gunshots and took the injured to a nearby hospital. The police lodged an FIR on the complaint of Hassan Wali, who said they had no enmity with anyone. Although they fled from an area flooded with militants, as many as 38% of the displaced people still fear security risks, states a report titled Multi-Clustered Initial Rapid Assessment (MIRA).
