Nawaz dismisses sit-ins as 'a small storm'

Nawaz says government has accepted demand for electoral reforms

ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif told media on Saturday that the sit-ins being staged in the capital by the PTI and PAT are just a small storm, adding that they will fizzle out with time.

Nawaz stated that he was being asked to dissolve assemblies and do things which are not even in his power, adding that the government has accepted the demand for electoral reforms.

“The demands that were acceptable have been accepted,” he stated.

When asked what will happen if the sit-ins continue, Nawaz remarked, “You have seen how many people there are at the protests and how many chairs are empty.”

Nawaz claimed that the sit-ins have negatively impacted development projects in the country, pointing out that Maldives President Abdulla Yameen and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa had cancelled their visits to Pakistan.
