Inflation: Index falls 0.12% during week
SPI for the combined income group also decreased 0.28% from 216.82 points
ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended August 28 registered a decrease of 0.12% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group was recorded at 208.26 points against 208.52 registered in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group also decreased 0.28% from 216.82 points in the previous week to 216.22 this week. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined group grew 6.47%. During the week under review, average prices of eight items in a selected basket fell, rates of 15 items increased and remaining 30 items stood unchanged.
