Livelihood: USAID, NADRA assist conflict victims
NADRA is promoting the expansion of e-Sahulat as a way to improve the collection of utility bills.
The United States Agency for International Development (Usaid)-funded Conflict Victims Support Program (CVSP) and the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) have undertaken an initiative to assist conflict victims earn livelihood.
The programme has trained and provided licenses to five conflict victims of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) to become e-Sahulat agents in their villages, said a press release.
“Nadra’s e-Sahulat is a service that enables the govt to collect utility payments online. Under this partnership, CVSP provided the equipment while NADRA provided the training and licensing. The first group to receive the equipment and training is a test group that will help refine the plan. The results will then be used to expand the program to include 50 more beneficiaries.”
NADRA is promoting the expansion of e-Sahulat as a way to improve the collection of utility bills in remote areas or those suffering from security risks.
“We are very pleased with this model because it provides an opportunity to assist conflict-affected communities’ sustainably through a win-win scenario for all: NADRA, the beneficiaries, and the community”, said Adnan Sher, CVSP Chief of the Party.
