Tapu Javeri broadening horizons

Photographer will soon exhibit his jewellery collection and photo-art in India.

KARACHI:
Photographer Tapu Javeri is all set to touchdown in New Delhi mid-September, to exhibit his jewellery items and art pieces. The exhibition will take place in Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, where Javeri will exhibit his collection for the first time ever. Interestingly, we have seen glimpses of his collection in his photographs, but the pieces of art have not been showcased in Pakistan yet.

“This is double-sided excitement for me. I have never exhibited my jewelry designs here but I plan on taking these to India — it is going to be interesting,” Javeri tells The Express Tribune. “As a photographer, I have been there many times, but for the first time, I will showcase photo-art work and jewelry designs also, I will be taking some Tapulicious bags!” he adds.

Why is it that Indians are always intrigued to see what Pakistan has to bring to them and vice versa? “The grass is always greener on the other side. We love their Bollywood and they like our fashion taste. Hopefully, I am taking a better taste of Pakistan,” explains Javeri.

India is known for its grandeur when it comes to jewellery; so what is it that Javeri has to offer that is likely to stand out? “They are known for their jewelry, we are famous for craftsmanship, so I plan to take some creative pieces from here,” he says.

In the five-day event, Javeri will showcase a photo-art and jewellery exhibition simultaneously. “I will be taking my camera along, so lots of photographs to be taken. I will also buy chooran for myself. I will be looking into orders which will get placed,” says the photographer on a final note.
