Armed assault: Six killed in firing on Zikri worship place
The bodies and injured were shifted to a government hospital in Awaran

At least six people were gunned down and seven others wounded on Thursday after the place of worship of the Zikri community was attacked by a group of armed men in Ziarat Dan, an area in the outskirts of Awaran district.
“The incident took place in a remote area. Armed men opened fire at the people who had gathered at their place of worship,” District Police Officer (DPO) Awaran Abdullah Jan informed The Express Tribune. The bodies and injured were shifted to a government hospital in Awaran.
The identities of the victims could not be ascertained until the bodies arrived at hospital. Police and security forces reached the site shortly after the incident to conduct further investigations into the attack.
“The place of worship of the Zikri sect is not particularly large but attracts people from different parts of Balochistan. We are conducting further inquiries into the incident,” the DPO added. “So far, all we know is that the victims belonged to the Zikri community”.
