Khan says that the May 2013 general elections were rigged, Shabbir told the court
LAHORE:
Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday dismissed a petition seeking an order to stop Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from performing his duties as the prime minister of Pakistan.
Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah of the Lahore High Court took up the petition, filed by Advocate Muhammad Shabbir, as an “objection case” after the registrar’s office had disputed its maintainability.
“After the revelations made by former Election Commission additional secretary Afzal Khan, the prime minister has no moral ground to continue in his office. Khan said that the May 2013 general elections were rigged,” Shabbir told the court.
Justice Shah remarked that Shabbir should file the petition in the relevant election tribunal.
