Rural areas: Anti-dengue campaign under way

Durrani also claimed that no case of dengue fever was reported at any hospital of the federal capital.

ISLAMABAD:
The anti-dengue campaign is in full swing in the rural areas of the capital under the supervision of the district administration.  District Dengue Surveillance Cell In-charge Dr Najeeb Durrani said lady health supervisors, sanitary inspectors and 300 lady health workers are participating in the campaigns. He said special teams were going door-to-door to detect and destroy dengue larvae, informing that fumigation was conducted at 700 places where larvae growth could be possible. Durrani further informed that chemicals were added in stagnant water reservoirs and ponds to destroy and break the mosquito breeding cycle in the present high transmission season. The campaign also includes a strategy to educate the people on how to control and prevent dengue by displaying banners and billboards and distribution of pamphlets through schools and health facilities. Durrani also claimed that no case of dengue fever was reported at any hospital of the federal capital.
