Sealed and stamped: Ministers seek certified copy of LHC verdict
Petition challenges order of registration of a case against 21 people involved in Model Town violence.
LAHORE:
An application seeking a certified copy of Justice Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa’s verdict which had upheld a district and sessions court’s order regarding the lodging of a case against 21 federal and provincial authorities was filed in the Lahore High Court on Wednesday.
The application has been moved in the Lahore High Court to obtain an order from a single bench to file an intra-court appeal against the verdict.
The petition had been filed by Information Minister Pervez Rasheed, Defence Minister Khwaja Asif, Railways Minister Saad Rafique and Water and Power Minister Abid Sher Ali.
The petition challenges a trial court order regarding the registration of a case against 21 people allegedly involved in the Model Town violence.
They include Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
