Pakistan, India DGMOs agree to hold flag meeting, cool tensions along LoC
It said that both sides mutually agreed to reduce tension along the Line of Control (LoC) and the working boundary

After a week of intense shelling and firing over the Line of Control (LoC) and the working boundary near Sialkot which had left at least two civilians dead, the director generals of military operations of Pakistan and India engaged over the hotline to de-escalate tensions between the two countries, with all were discussed including the possibility of a flag meeting between the area commanders of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Pakistan Rangers.
A statement from Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) said both sides had mutually agreed to reduce tension along the LoC and working boundary.
However, India did not act on a reported request by Pakistan for a meeting of the two DGMOs.
Indian media reported that Islamabad had requested for a meeting of the DGMOs three days ago as tensions along the LoC escalated.
Meanwhile, Indian Defense Minister Arun Jaitley held a meeting with the three heads of the Indian military amid renewed firing on the border to take stock of the military situation.
The matter also took a political turn as government ally Shiv Sena demanded that ‘enough was enough’ and asked the government to take the war "to Pakistani soil" to end the proxy war once for all.
On the other hand, there was total silence from the Indian government on the Pakistani demand, suggesting it was not taking it seriously.
Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh is also expected to visit the border firing-hit areas on August 29.
