Curbing crime: New CCPO orders steps to reduce crime

 CCPO Captain(retd) Muhammad Ameen Wains directed police officers on Monday to take immediate steps to reduce crime.



Wains has asked SPs to hold monthly meetings with DSPs and SHOs to review steps being taken to curb crimes.


The CCPO has also constituted a three-member committee to finalise the appointment of SHOs. The committee, consisting of the headquarters SP, the security SP and the area SP, to scrutinise the policemen who want to be posted as SHOs. “According to the new criteria, posting of SHOs will be finalised by taking into account their past repute, performance and the concerned SP’s recommendation,” the statement said.


Operations DIG Dr Haider Ashraf said that incompetent officers would not be posted as SHOs. “The performance of all SHOs will be monitored on a monthly basis. Stern action will be taken against any SHO found guilty of corruption and misconduct,” Ashraf said.
