Standardised testing: 45,000 appear in engineering admissions test
The test for 6,000 seats held <br />
simultaneously at 14 centres.
LAHORE:
Nearly 45,000 candidates appeared in the entry test given by the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on Sunday for admission to engineering institutions across the province.
The test for around 6,000 seats was simultaneously held at all the institutions at 10am. The university administration said 44,600 candidates took the test at 14 centres.
The most number of 12,630 candidates appeared at the university’s main campus in Lahore, 1,347 at its Kala Shah Kaku campus and 2,940 at UET’s Taxila campus.
More than 2,000 candidates appeared at the Lahore Garrison University’s both campuses – the main campus and Jinnah campus.
Around 4,500 candidates turned up at the International Islamic University, Islamabad, and 6,000 at the College of Engineering and Technology, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan.
NFC Institute of Engineering and Technology recorded 1,400 candidates while 4,550 prospective students appeared at the NFC Institute of Engineering and Fertiliser Research, Faisalabad.
Nearly 4,500 candidates appeared at the University of Gujrat, 500 at the Government College of Technology, Rasul and 830 at Dr AQ Khan Institute of Technology, Mianwali.
The result will be declared on August 31. It will be also available on the university’s website. The key for self-marking of the entry test was scheduled to be uploaded at midnight on Sunday.
UET Vice Chancellor Lt Gen (r) Muhammad Akram Khan said the university had taken steps to take the test in a transparent manner.
He visited different test centres, said a statement from the university.
