The Insaf Students’ Federation (ISF) continued to protest against the government at Defence Housing Society (DHA) on Saturday.
The organisers said a protest rally would be taken out from Lalik Chowk to Ghazi Chowk to express solidarity with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s Azadi March in Islamabad.
“The rally will conclude at Ghazi Chowk where protesters will stage a sit-in,” said Karar Khan Niazi, an ISF member.
“The rally will support demands made by party chairman Imran Khan during his speeches in Islamabad,” Niazi said.
He said registration of volunteers started on the first day of the ongoing sit at Lalik Chowk, would continue until the end of Azadi March.
“We have registered 2,000 PTI workers for participation in the rally.”
Niazi said the ISF was planning to arrange sit-ins at Imran Khan’s residence in Zaman Park from Monday and rallies on The Mall after sunset to demand prime minister’s resignation.
He said some Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) activists had tried to vandalise ISF protest camp on Friday night. “We asked our workers to keep clam and avoid a clash,” Niazi said.
“We are participating in the rally to lay foundation of a new Pakistan,” said Anila, one of the participants of the rally.
“We will carry food with us and stay at the rally until midnight to listen to Imran Khan on a big screen,” she said.
A number of Model Town and Gulberg residents have visited the PTI provincial office to get party flags, badges and posters for participation in the rally, a PTI media representative said.
He said many people had left for Islamabad on Saturday to participate in Azadi March.
Meanwhile, PTI Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhry issued a statement saying that the government’s days were numbered.
“Azadi March is in the final stage and rulers are now thinking of how to flee the country. We will not let them escape.”Chaudhry said PTI workers were determined to stay in the streets until the government was removed.
“The non-violent march has made a history.”

Looks like these young people want to shamelessly party and listen to music at night while the army is defeating anti state terrorists on the border. I hope the government arrests all of these jokers who want to destabilize Pakistan for foreign interests.
