Fighting the good fight: Bajaur tribal elders vow to continue denying shelter to militants
Tribal elders discussed the existing security situation, expressed their satisfaction

Determined to fight terrorism and violence, a jirga of the Salarzai tribe from Bajaur Agency vowed to continue denying shelter to militants.
The jirga reiterated its stance against militancy to Political Agent Syed Abdul Jabbar Shah and Commandant of Bajaur Scouts Colonel Amir Ali on Thursday. Also present were other officials including Assistant Political Agent Sohail Ahmad Khan and Political Tehsildar Sardar Yousaf, apart from tribal elders Malik Dilawar Khan, Malik Gul Karim Khan, Anwar Zeb and former senator Maulana Abdul Rashid.
Tribal elders discussed the existing security situation, expressing their satisfaction over the government’s action against militants.
They reminded officials that the tribe had long imposed a ban on anyone supporting militant groups. The jirga also ordered the demolition of houses and hujras of tribesmen violating these instructions. Tribal elder Malik Dilawar Khan assured that the jirga’s stance would remain similar in future.
