KARACHI:

The Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) and its allied parties staged a sit-in at Numaish Chowrangi and blocked the city's main traffic routes to show solidarity with Pakistan Awami Tehreek's Dr Tahirul Qadri on Tuesday.

The sit-in was organised by the MWM. The sit-in was attended by a large number of people, including workers and activists from the Sunni Ittehad Council, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid, Awami Muslim League and Sunni Tehreek.

Policemen were deployed around main Numaish to avoid any untoward incidents. "We are holding a sit-in today only in Numaish Chowrangi on our leaders' appeal," said MWM spokesperson. "Tomorrow, if he wants we will extend it."
