Violence: Schoolgirl dies in accident

The FIR will be registered after the victim’s burial.

HYDERABAD:
A schoolgirl, 10-year-old Laiba Mumtaz, was fatally injured when a motorcycle hit her as she crossed a road on her way home from school in Husri town on Monday. She was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital. The Husri police said that an unknown motorcyclist hit the girl and fled the scene. The deceased was a resident of Bahawal Zaunr village and was enrolled in a local primary school. In another incident, Ahmer Ansari, 35, was allegedly shot dead by unidentified men at his residence in Firdous Colony late on Sunday night. Ansari’s family was visiting Karachi at the time. The deceased was shot in the head, said the medico-legal officer Dr Javaid Iqbal. The Sakhi police said they have yet to identify the suspects. The FIR will be registered after the victim’s burial.
