Border violation: 3 injured in Indian firing, shelling across working boundary

Two Rangers personnel are among the injured

SIALKOT:
Three people, including two Rangers personnel, were injured by Indian army firing and shelling across the working boundary on Monday, Express News reported.

The Indian army allegedly violated the border in Sialkot, Charwah and Haryal sector. On retaliation by Rangers personnel, the firing from the Indian side came to a halt.

There have been at least 55 incidents of ceasefire violation by Indian troops since July this year.

Just one week ago, on August 11, unprovoked firing by Indian soldiers in Charwah sector near the Sialkot working boundary killed a woman and injured two others.

Rangers sources had said that a mosque was also damaged in the incident.

Pakistan had summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner to the Foreign Office and lodged a protest over the incident.
