The way out: Shah prescribes ‘political’ solution
MQM leaders visit camps of PTI and PAT; say Altaf concerned about marchers .
ISLAMABAD/KARACHI:
Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Saturday said that all political parties should find a political solution of all the problems. Speaking in a television programme, he said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was playing its role to resolve issues with political wisdom.
He said that the Pakistan Tehreek- e -Insaf (PTI) is a political party and believed in supremacy of the Constitution and Parliament. “PTI’s leadership should come to the negotiating table for resolving all the issues,” he said. Shah said that political dialogue and politics of reconciliation should be preferred to settle political issues. Separately, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) enjoined warring political groupings in the capital to avoid confrontation and sort out issues through dialogue.
According to a statement issued on Saturday, members of MQM Rabita Committee Rasheed Godail, Haider Abbas Rizvi and Aslam Afridi visited the camps of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in Islamabad and distributed biscuits, juice, water bottles and other edibles among the participants of both sit-ins.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, the MQM leaders said that their leader Altaf Hussain was worried and concerned about the protesters — who have been under the open sky for more than two days now. Altaf has requested the leaders of both the political parties to solve their issues on humanitarian grounds, said the MQM leaders.
They pointed out that Altaf has also appealed to Islamabad and Rawalpindi residents to take care of the participants as they are their guests.
