SUKKUR:

Three people belonging to the Kakepoto community were killed when a group of armed men opened fire on them near the Rehmatpur village on Saturday.

The Garhi Yasin police reached the site of the incident and moved the bodies to the taluka hospital for an autopsy, before being handed over to the relatives. However, no case has been registered yet.

The Kakepoto community has been at loggerheads with each other for the past 30 years and armed clashes between the two have claimed 19 lives and left a number of others injured.

A Jirga helped resolve the dispute in the past but peace was broken soon after. The violence has spilled over to the Garhi Yasin town.
