Crime against women: Man kills sister for honour

A contingent from Sargodha Road police station searched the house and found the body.

FAISALABAD:
Police on Wednesday discovered the partially decomposed body of a 24-year-old woman from her house. Her brother has confessed to the murder.

Neighbours contacted police after noticing stench coming from the home of Faisal Bashir, a resident of Mehmoodabad.

A contingent from Sargodha Road police station searched the house and found the body. They took Bashir into custody, who, they said, confessed to killing his sister. The Sargodha Road SHO said, “The suspect told police that he had killed his sister Saira* fifteen days ago because she had an affair with a neighbour.”

The SHO said that Bashir told police he had burnt the body to conceal its identity. Police said that the suspect also told them that he had cut off one leg of the body and tried to hide it somewhere else. Police have registered a case against Bashir on the complaint of Shehzad Ahmad, a brother-in-law of the deceased.

Ahmad told reporters that Saira was the youngest of five sisters, of whom four were married. He said that she had been living with her brother, Bashir.
