Target killing: SSP leader gunned down in Shabqadar

The attackers managed to escape after the incident.

PESHAWAR:
The Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) ameer for Shabqadar tehsil, Abdul Mohsin, was gunned down in an incident of target killing in Landi Sarak on the outskirts of Peshawar late Tuesday night. A Khazana police official said that Abdul Mohsin and his brother Abdul Basit, residents of Mian Esa, Charsadda, were in a taxi on their way home when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire at them. Mohsin died on the spot while the driver, Habib Rasool, was injured. The attackers managed to escape after the incident and Rasool was rushed to a hospital where his condition is said to be critical. “This appears to be an incident of target killing,” said the official. “An FIR has been registered against unidentified attackers.” In the previous general elections, the deceased was an unsuccessful candidate from PK-22, Charsadda for the Pakistan Rah-e-Haq party; a political wing of the banned SSP.
