Eliminating differences: Religious scholars urge uniformity in curriculums

Religious scholars from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa urged uniformity in the curriculum of educational institutes in the country to eliminate differences between various sects of Islam.
During a four-day conference organised by the University of Peshawar’s Islamiat Department and the Peace and Education Foundation, Islamabad, speakers said the difference in the curriculum of madrassahs and English and Urdu medium schools often led to dangerous consequences.
Around 60 religious scholars from madrassahs across the province spoke during the event held at the Baragali Campus of the University of Peshawar. The event concluded on Wednesday, stated a press release.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jehanzeb said Muslims should set an example for others to follow. Meanwhile, Dr Qibla Ayaz said the aim of the conference was to bridge the gap between madrassah and university teachers.
