Addressing a press conference at Minhajul Quran Secretariat in Lahore on Wednesday evening, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri reassured that their “march will be peaceful and per the Constitution and aims to enforce the Constitution.

Referring to the Lahore High Court judgement regarding the removal of barricades and containers placed on the routes of the march and around Model Town in Lahore, Qadri said that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab and Federal government have committed contempt of court by not removing the barricades.

Commenting on the statement of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, in which he praised the Punjab police performance of past one week, Qadri said the minister is glorifying the police which has not only besieged the model town, but was also responsible for the disappearance of hundreds of PAT supporters including women and children.

Referring to the death of PAT Punjab vice-president Dr Muhammad Ilyas, Qadri claimed that he died after the police did not allow the ambulance carrying him to leave Model Town.

The Pakistan govt. is a most corrupt regime which has stolen then mandate of people by doing a massive rigging in the 2013 elections. Dr. Qadri a scholar, a writer of 600 page "Fatwa Against Terrorism", and global ambassador of peace who had lead a peaceful march in Jan 2013 for electoral reforms. He had predicted a massive rigging and it happened. This time he is doing a peaceful march for "revolution". The govt. is using state machinery illegally and has already martyred 23 of his workers since 17th Jun 2014. There are lots of paid articles coming in the news trying to malign his image and show his supporters as anarchists.

He has raised voice for poor and oppressed. He has raised voice for those who cannot make both the ends meets because of the corrupt govt. He has raised voice for true democracy in Pakistan.

I am an Indian and I support all these peaceful efforts made any where the world to give rights to the oppressed. I support the voice raised against the corrupts. I support the struggle for prevailing true democracy in any society.
